A new hero is set to rise from the pages of classic Korean literature in the form of Woochi the Warfarer for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
NEXON Games has officially unveiled Woochi the Wayfarer, a high-end, single-player action-adventure game set in Korea’s historic Joseon era.
This blockbuster title is slated for a global release on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
Revealed with a stunning new teaser trailer, this ambitious project aims to bring a Korean fantasy world to life with vivid, cutting-edge graphics, an original story, and a soundtrack from an Academy Award-winning composer.
An Epic Adventure in the Joseon Era
Woochi the Wayfarer is a blockbuster action-adventure that depicts the incredible journey of the Dosa (The Mage of the Way), Jeon Woochi.
The game is inspired by “The Tale of Jeon Woochi,” a classic Korean novel that follows the adventures of a trickster hero who uses his magical powers to fight injustice and punish the corrupt.
This new single-player narrative will deliver a deeply immersive and thrilling action gameplay experience, featuring a host of unique elements rooted in Korean culture.
A Stunning Korean Fantasy World
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game will transport players to a beautifully realised version of the Joseon fantasy world. To ensure authenticity, the development team at LoreVault Studio is collaborating with experts in various fields, such as Korean literature and traditional music.
They are also conducting extensive location hunting, personally visiting cultural sites across Korea to recreate the Joseon era in high-quality 3D.
The new teaser trailer gives us our first glimpse of the mysterious shaman, Myoan, and a fierce standoff with the hero, Woochi. The game will feature a host of traditional Korean monsters to battle as you master a powerful and unique magic system.
A Soundtrack from a Master
Adding to the incredible production value, the colourful and emotional soundtrack is being composed by the legendary Jung Jae-il, the acclaimed musician behind the unforgettable, award-winning scores for the film Parasite and the Netflix series Squid Game.
