Knowing how to extract in Sand Raiders of Sophie is crucial as you won’t be able to bank everything you’ve scavenged while wandering the desert without getting picked up first. Thankfully, the process is nice and simple, requiring you to use a radio tower to call for help, but it’s not exactly a swift process – and if you’re playing a Storm Dive game, there are a couple of other caveats to be aware of. So, if you’re trying to get your Trampler off Sophie, here’s what you need to do to extract.
Sand Raiders of Sophie extraction explained
To extract in Sand, you need to find a radio tower, climb to the top, and activate the radio to call for evacuation – a waypoint will guide you to the tower when you’re within 200 meters of one. Whether you’re playing Storm Dive or Voyage, these radio towers appear on the map as a white circular icon with a door in the middle, indicating your exit.
Once you’ve activated a radio tower, you must then wait 90 seconds for the dropship to arrive and collect your Trampler, at which point it will drop a cable. You’ll then have another 60 seconds to approach the cable and follow the button prompt to ascend and leave with the ship, banking all the loot on your person and in your Trampler. Obviously if you don’t get out in time, you’ll be left behind – in Voyage mode, this isn’t much of a problem because there are plenty of radio towers active on the map and they never expire, so you can just try again.

However, for Storm Dive matches, radio towers don’t become usable until the first two segments of the match timer in the bottom-left corner of your screen have filled – on this timer, you can see the same white door icon as on the map! Once the timer has passed this icon, several radio towers will become available all at once but they’re also all single-use, becoming unavailable once they’ve been activated by a player to take a Trampler away. With that in mind, you need to always be checking your map in Storm Dive and need to be prepared to change your exit strategy at a moment’s notice. Don’t leave it until the storm closes in either!
