Build A Theme Park Worthy Of The Big Screen
The Silver Screen Pack is all about bringing a touch of old-school movie glamour to Planet Coaster 2. Art deco detailing, polished marble, towering skyscrapers and cinematic backdrops provide the foundations for creating a park that feels more like a sprawling film set than a traditional theme park.
There are more than 650 scenery pieces to play with, alongside over 100 animatronics and a selection of vehicles. That should give creative builders plenty of scope to construct everything from bustling city streets to elaborate studio backlots.
A new Cinema also lets guests enjoy a movie-themed attraction, while the Big Screen Tour provides the sort of backlot experience you’d expect to find at a major studio.
Seven New Rides Take Centre Stage
The scenery might steal the spotlight, but there are also seven new rides to put through their paces.
The Vector New Gen Flying Coaster offers high-speed thrills, while the Re-Motion brings a highly customisable simulator-style experience with seats mounted to an adjustable robotic arm. There’s also the Fourth Wall, which tilts guests through 360 degrees, alongside the family-friendly Movement Construction Slot Car racers and the Ground Control flying attraction.
For something a little more cinematic, the Big Screen Tour rounds out the new attractions and gives guests another way to take in the sights of your latest creation.
The Silver Screen Pack isn’t arriving alone. Free Update 11 is also available for every Planet Coaster 2 player, adding several features that should make running and building a park a little smoother.
Queue wait signs are perhaps the most immediately useful addition, while five new concession counters give park managers more options when keeping hungry guests happy.
On-ride photography is also being expanded, with flumes and tracked rides now able to capture those memorable moments. The update also includes various bug fixes and improvements.
And Frontier hasn’t forgotten about the smaller details either. The Silver Screen Pack includes 30 movie-themed ambient sounds and more than 80 sound effects, allowing builders to add a little more atmosphere to their creations. There are also new animatronics and the new entertainer Cornell Butterworth to help bring the cinematic theme to life.
A Worthy Follow-Up To Planet Coaster 2’s Previous Packs
We awarded Planet Coaster 2 4/5 in our review, praising it as a worthy continuation of Frontier’s theme park management series and noting how successfully its new features built upon the core park creation experience.
The Silver Screen Pack feels like another expansion aimed squarely at that creative side of the game. Rather than simply adding a handful of rides, it gives players an entire visual identity to work with, backed up by new attractions and plenty of smaller touches.
For those who enjoy spending hours tweaking every corner of their parks, the sheer number of new scenery pieces could prove to be the biggest attraction of all.
Roll The Credits On Another Planet Coaster 2 Expansion
Planet Coaster 2: Silver Screen Pack is available today on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the base game quite obviously required if you want in on the action.
Whether you want to build a glamorous art deco city, recreate a sprawling movie backlot or simply give your guests another reason to scream, Frontier has handed Park Managers another sizeable box of creative tools.
Now all that’s left is to shout “action” and see what you can build.
