N64 arrives on the Wii U Virtual Console! | GamesYouLoved

If you’re looking for some more retro action on your new gen consoles then Nintendo has more of their back catalogue in store for you to download – this time for N64!

Nintendo has seen the opportunity for retro re-releases once again with Nintendo 64 games being available as from now on the WiiU with Super Maro 64 to start with and then other titles on their way.

Along with this, Nintendo DS titles will be released to increase the retro back catalogue even further. DS titles will also benefit from a dual screen setup between the TV and Game Pad so that should be interesting too figure out and see!

Nintendo are clearly playing off their heritage.

Super Mario 64 and Yoshi’s Island DS are the initial WiiU Virtual Console launch titles – but like we say, already announced are more to come and maybe even more – if it’s successful for Nintendo financially.

The question is – would you pay again for a game you probably already own (as these a very much the popular titles right now) just to have easy access and scale up to HD? Only time will tell if there is an uptake on this for more titles to be released.
