The Path of Kana is an action-adventure RPG where you are finding your way through a haunted dungeon, solving strange puzzles, and trying to guide lost souls home. There’s a story, tons of enemies, and a lot of items to discover.
In The Path of Kana, the Celestial Kingdom has fallen, corrupted by the grief of High Priest Lucian Noctis, which has caused the living world and the spirit realm to end up intertwined, with darkness spreading. You have been chosen by an ancient spirit and now must journey through these dungeons, looking to return the fallen Celestial Kingdom to peace.

When it comes to the dungeons, which is what I played most of in the demo at Game Con Canada, I found the perspective and enemies in The Path of Kana to be very interesting. Some of the perspectives, like climbing up ladders, feel like they are coming towards you as the player, which is just interesting. The way that you fight off enemies also feels unique – often they have a specific place that needs to be hit or there are some enemies made of bones that need to be knocked back into pits. It’s just got these little, polished unique twists that feel good. I didn’t end getting into the meet of the story, but it does sound like it would be quite engaging.
The Path of Kana does have a progression system, where you will be finding items that help you gain new abilities and solve puzzles, opening up more of the map and allowing you to go further on your quest to defeat darkness. The game itself is meant to be randomized, so that each playthrough has items in different areas, keeping the game new and refreshing.
The Path of Kana doesn’t have a current release date, but can be wishlisted on Steam.
